Nick frolicking in the snowy gazebo on the Boston Common

New Pictures from January.

It got so cold, so snowy, so icy that I did a spur of the moment escape trip to Florida the first week of February.  It was a nice reprieve, but the downside was it was the coldest it's been in Ft. Lauderdale all year long. It even got down to the 30's at night!  But, it was still warmer than Boston, so I'm trying to be positive about the whole thing.  Coldest Florida trip ever though.  It's been better in Boston since returning, not as cold,  the ice is slowly melting.  Only thing is another snow storm is coming tonight.  Maybe it will make for some good skiing this weekend?!

Karen on Ft. Lauderdale beach, a balmy 50 degree night

Oscars on Sunday.  Slumdog Millionaire will win best picture.  I haven't seen enough of the movies yet, that's something I'm going to have to work on.  I really enjoyed Slumdog, so I'm okay with it winning. I saw Milk and Revolutionary Road too, I really liked both films.  If you're having your first kid or planning on it I recommend watching Revolutionary Road. ;) I'm also hoping to see Benjamin Button before Sunday.

So I'm taking Bio 101 now.  Working 32 hours a week and trying to have fun too.  Skiing, taking day trips, touring the city, and watching all my favorite TV shows live and old ones on DVD (Lost, 24, Battlestar Galactica OMFrackingG!!!--i just finished season 3 and learned who 5 cylons are and it rocked my world, Survivor, Amazing Race, AI, Bachelor, Fringe, Dexter, and Six Feet Under).  I feel like i'm constantly busy, but I think that's a good thing.  Can I just say I am completely in love with Lost and Battlestar right now, omg, Desmond! Eddie James Olmos!  I could write pages and pages on both shows and how much I love them and all the characters, but I won't bore you with that.

Cheers!  Almost one month of Obama as President.  My God, that feels good.  I cried watching the inauguration.
